Therma Tru - Adultery
Original review updated May 24, 2024

The company employs Ronald Barnett, who is having an affair with my wife. I call out to all who are against adultery to boycott this company and let our voices be heard: we don't *** this behavior.

Buy something from them and don't expect they care after they got your $$$

We have old French doors and the astragal boots - small rubber type stoppers that fit in between the doors to help seal them. Anyway, they no longer stock these astragal boots and they refer you to door and window supply companies that don't even carry anything or very little from Therma Tru - what a joke.

There is a sucker born every minute, as they say.

Stay away if you buy these doors because they don't stock replacement parts. Expect to stay on hold for 10 minutes or they hang up on you.

Therma True was highly recommended by my contractor. I went with his recommendation and have regretted since.

This door is for medical use for emergencies. It is on a step up into the house. Its the easiest way for myself to get out since I have disabilities.

I contacted Therma True and their response was they dont warranty rot! So they dont care if they have rotten doors

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Kept calling.

They finally sent their rep who was very very nice. They along with the distributor are going to provide a new door.

We have to get it installed and are still working on that. Therma tru came throug.

Original review Nov 10, 2023

Therma Tru door was installed. 3 separate doors and 4 sets of side lights were sent before we got to the point where we are now.

Everything sent was defective. All had problems including the last set. After months of being ignored and avoided they finally said that it is not a manufacturing problem and they were not going to honor their warranty. They are blaming the installer for what are pretty obviously manufacturing problems.

Windows are scratched. Parts don't fit and scratch the door when it closes.

I’m pissed because you won’t deal directly with me!!

The customer service lady did a great job, however I was told that I would have to order the part from Lowes! Its been over 3 months now and I still cant use my front door!!

Lowes first lost my order, then forgot to order, then ordered the wrong parts and now its like pulling teeth to get them to order the right part!! It would have been so simple if you wouldve just sent me the parts 3 months ago, but no youve made me deal with the stupid ass-wipes at Lowes!! Im beyond frustrated so if you cant get the part to me then my next move will be to post on social media the removal and destruction of my beautiful ThermaTru door & replace it with a brand that will take care of its customers!!

All I need is the gear box # MPDGARTP60 . Id rather take an ass-whooping than to try to deal with Lowes anymore!!

My contractor highly recommended Therma Tru since I wanted a top quality door. The door is only used for emergencies and putting Christmas lights around it.

This year was the first year I did the lights and was shocked to see the door was rotting!! I contacted the company and was told rot is not covered!

The door is up on a step not flat on the porch so water couldnt have been a problem. I need a good door because Im disabled and if I ever need an ambulance that is the door that has to be used.

Therma Tru was highly recommended by my contractor because I was looking for a good quality door. It was installed in June 2017.

The door is not used except for emergency and hanging up Christmas lights. This year I put up the lights instead of my friends and thats when I noticed the door rotting.

I was shocked !! The door is up on a step not on the porch so no water should get at it.

Therma Tru does not stand behind their product

Our contractor installed a Therma Tru fiberglass exterior door. A subcontractor sprayed insulation on the door and did not clean it up.

I called TT and asked what we could do to take off the spray insulation without damaging the door. They said Goof Off would not damage the finish or stain. However, GO destroyed the texture and stain.

I filed a complaint with TT and waited 2 months only to hear that TT was not responsible for the damage and the erroneous information about GO not harming the door. We are going to trash a $1,800 door and go with a different brand

No plugs!

So far, no issues with the two exterior doors I have installed except why are the plugs sold separately?? Plugs used to be included and the only conclusion is you are nickel and diming your customers.

$24 extra for little plastic plugs?? I should have thought checked before purchasing the doors.

And sure, something so petty makes me want to never order your products again. What's next, hinges are sold separately??

Doesn't stand behind their warranty!

Updated by user Dec 11, 2023

Spoke w the owner of the business that the door came from, and he said that he is currently as of today, having warranty issues w them on two other customers. People, please check elsewhere , just don't want people to go through what I've went through. They have an excuse for everything as far as their warranty goes.

Original review Dec 11, 2023
Had a door installed, an exterior entrance
door, it has already been replaced once for
the same issue. The business that I
purchased the door from is trying to help w
my issue.

But as far as the manufacturer,
they don't stand behind nothing, told me it
was a maintenance issue. If it's an exterior
door you shouldn't have to do anything to it,
exterior means it can withstand the
elements. Total BS! STAY AS FAR AWAY
FROM THIS BRAND AS POSSIBLE, Please do
your research before you buy.

I was even
surprised
to see that they had a 3.1 star
rating, the only reason I give them a 2 star
rating is because they got the shape of the
door right.

BS way to run a business
knowing that people depend on having a
door for their home. Please look elsewhere
money is hard enough to come by w/o them
screwing you on the "so called warranty "
I'll update more as this Fiasco plays out

User's recommendation: No! Just no! You better use a lawyer if you want a lifetime warranty on an exterior door!

Very disappointed in our 2017 Therma-Tru Door and their Warranty on their door, considering how expensive they are.

My wife and I noticed excessive leaking through each glass Therma Tru door panels, Pictures below.

Buyers, please beware leaking glass panels on Therma Tru doors.

Please step up let customer transfer over Warranty claims.

Customer of Therma Tru front door very unhappy

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Aug 06, 2023

No word from TheraTru. still waiting for a possible resolution I do not want any contractor to work on the door for fear Therma Tru would say that voids its 10 year warranty.

Original review updated Aug 06, 2023
I bought a very expensive Therna True fiberglass insulated front door with side windows and the faux cherry wood finish started to disintegrate on the door That is because the sun hits it in the mornings and the faux cherry wood finish just did not hold up and began to disintegrate and come off. first complained to lowes who said they would into it and get back to me, time passed and lowes said to contact therma tru under the door's 10 year warranty, Contacted Therma Tru and it started to weasel out of any responsibility on its 10 year warranty and gave me a hard time.

I assume Therma Tru has had other problems with its cherry wood look finish disintegrating. i am going to keep posting wherever and whenever i can about how Therma Tru does not honor its 10 year warranty on its expensive faux wood front doors. I am a totally disabled homebound Marine Corps veteran who paid over $5,000 for the Therma Tru front door. Bought the Therma Tru front door along with Pella casement windows for the front of my home through Lowe's on North Shådeland Avenue In Indianapolis Indiana, and spent over $25,000.

The Sales Rep at Lowe's assure me that the Therma Tru front door was far superior to Pella doors and that it would not be a maintenance problem.

The fact that the disintegrated-looking Therma Tru front door is in the center of my home draws eyes because it is a terrible eyesore. It degrades the value of my home and regret not having purchased a Pella front door instead.
I subsequently found out that Therma Tru also sells refinishing kits for its faux cherry wood doors so it obviously knows that the wood look finish does not hold up and requires maintenance
